Patchwork Stories projects have taken place in Exeter, Uk (2014) and Austin, Texas (2015). These projects are collaborative events linking the communities of Exeter and Austin.
The Core Team: vision, design, structure and facilitation
Megan Alrutz: Director
Megan is an assistant professor of applied theatre and community cultural engagement based in Austin, Texas. She has many years experience facilitating digital storytelling, and theatre for young audiences. She runs the Performing Justice Project, an applied performance program that invites young people to devise new work about identity-based inequities and stories from their lives. She sees Patchwork Stories as part of the vital inquiry into what it takes for us to turn towards one another rather than away.

Fiona Macbeth: Director
Fiona is an applied theatre practitioner and university lecturer based in Exeter, UK. She has worked for many years with adults facing situations of challenge and conflict and young people on the cusp of leaving care. Her experiences have inspired her to create Patchwork Stories as a place and space in which a sense of belonging is generated and the wisdom of individuals is shared and celebrated.
